Who We Are
The Mosaic Story: A brief history of our brief history.
In August of 2007, my wife, Diane, and I met in our living room with three other couples to discuss the idea of planting Mosaic Church. During those first few meetings we discussed starting a church:
· That’s casual and practical.
· That’s externally focused, working to meet the needs of the community around it.
· That’s an exciting celebration each weekend.
· That has excellent children’s and infant ministries.
· That’s a safe place to invite your boss. (ie. No weird stuff happening.)
· That’s reproducible. A church we could use as a model to plant other churches around Northern Colorado.
In just a few years Mosaic has grown from eight people meeting in my house to an exciting, thriving community of worshippers celebrating Jesus every weekend. God has been amazing us on this journey.
Speak Plainly: A simple presentation of the gospel done in creative ways will change lives. We’re not interested in sending people to Hell, but in helping them find their way to Heaven.
Celebrate Jesus every weekend: Our weekend services will be energetic, informal, engaging and fun. Our teaching will be Bible-based and practical.
Be Real: Pretending to be someone we’re not on Sunday morning doesn’t do anybody any good. We are committed to helping people live a real faith in real life. You could say that we're more concerned about what the Bible says about life Monday through Saturday than one hour on Sunday morning.
Serve Others: We have found that when a person begins a relationship with Jesus they begin to realize the world doesn’t revolve around them. We understand one reason we exist is to serve the world.
Invite Others into The Boat: We have found the most effective evangelism happens through people inviting friends and family. (Proverbs 11:30; John 1:43-45; John 4:28-30)
Commit To Growth As Believers: Through small groups and personal bible reading, service and worship we will grow in relationship with Jesus and one another.
Commit To Growth As a Church: Facilities will never keep us from growing. We will never get emotionally attached to buildings so that it keeps from doing what we feel God is calling us to do.
Choose faith over fear: We will always play to advance and we will not play to not lose.
Give God our best: We will function as a church of 500 now. (and then a church of 1,000 when we reach 500, and so on)
Reproduce ourselves: By identifying and training emerging leaders who are fully committed to Christ we will multiply our efforts throughout Northern Colorado and pass the baton of the Gospel to the next generation. (2 Timothy 2:2; 1 Timothy 3:1; Titus 1:5-9; Psalm 78:6, 7)
